Salaries obviously depend on a number of variables, but some of the most important factors are location, position, experience and company. This article is about salaries in design and development, and includes data from a survey of design salaries collected from 1,000 survey respondents from 58 countries.
The take-aways are not terribly surprising:
- Engineering and other positions that require coding skills pay, on average, more than jobs that don’t require coding skills
- Jobs in more expensive cities (e.g. San Francisco and New York) pay more than jobs in other cities
- The pay in the U.S. is better than most other developed countries
While not based on a huge sample, I thought the numbers would interest those either aspiring to or building a career in UX, engineering, and design.
